FFIV FPS patch comparison

I have a problem with the edges of the black side screen. Does anyone know how it can be eliminated? I have the Steam version

I get something weird. I used this method on both ff4 and the after years, but for some reason this just gets borked in the after years. The downloadable exe for FF4 worked just fine, but the exe for TAF gives me a "application was unable to start correctly 0xc0000142" error. I tried both the exe and the hex editor, but it does the same. I even checked between your exe and mine, and they are just the same. Before the hex change nothing went wrong, and it only happens with the after years too, the one for ff4 works just fine, and it seems I am not the only one getting this issue. Could it be an issue like the one for FF4 where some people had to change a different line? Anyways, thanks for your help, pal. Kind of a shame that fans have to fix the things that get screwed up by Squenix, but also neat that someone is able to fix these things.

It is hilarious how it takes a patch made by a fan to make the game much more playable.  Wonder why the company didn't think of that?
